Shadeland Ranch Museum Tours

The Shadelands Ranch house and grounds are open to the public for docent-led tours each week from February through October. The Museum is closed on all major public holidays.

Museum Tours:

Sundays & Wednesdays
1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Museum Fees:

Adults (17 and up) : $5.00
Youth (16 and under): Free
WCHS Members: Free

Tickets can be purchased online with a credit card here or at the door, cash only! 

Group and Private Tours

Reservations are required for groups of 8 or more people or for those with special
needs.
Private tours also can be scheduled on alternate days with a reservation.

For visitors with special needs: All of the grounds and the first floor of the house are fully accessible to those with physical disabilities.

In addition, the Museum offers supplementary materials, including videos and photos, to ensure that those with special needs are able to enjoy the features of the second floor.

Group tours are restricted to no more than 30 people.

Other Historic Sites and Tours

The Historical Society also offers both docent-led and self-guided tours of heritage sites in downtown Walnut Creek. Learn more about these tours.

The City of Walnut Creek owns and maintains Borges Ranch, an historic cattle ranch from the early 1900s.

A site on the National Register of Historic Places, the Ranch includes a blacksmith shop, numerous outbuildings, farm equipment displays, and a barn. The ranch is open to the public.
